Lazy Thinking is a music venue, record store (that sells only independent Australian music), restaurant and bar.

Our performances focus on exciting independent, locally based artists of all persuasions. There are no headliners and we try and get a balance each week between more established independent artists we love and emerging, lesser known artists. All shows are pay what you want, no one turned away.

Lazy Thinking Live runs every Sunday between 3pm and 7pm. We rip out the tables and chairs and turn the venue into a special, very intimate live performance space. Lazy Thinking Late features a more experimental/outer program and runs every Wednesday night.

Our kitchen doesn’t use gas or charcoal, as we think it’s better for our staff and the planet. Our menu is highly seasonal, constantly changing and focuses on some of our favourite, lesser known casual dishes from around the world, seafood, native ingredients and seasonality.

We only stock independent beer and low intervention wines from Australian producers and always ensure we have a very wide range of non-alcoholic drinks on offer. We think bars are more than just places to drink alcohol now and we want our little place to reflect this.

Our record store focuses exclusively on new independent Australian music, with a heavy emphasis on new music from Eora/Sydney. We’re especially fond of labels and artists operating on the margins of contemporary music and also always stock a wide range of new merch from labels and artists we love.
