Artists need to get paid. Touring’s unpredictable and inconsistent, and streaming is officially now a not terribly funny joke. Sync (film/TV/media) is one of the few things that can actually help artists pay bills. There is more content being produced right now than at any other moment in history.

At the same time, music supervisors want new and exciting music — not the same five tracks everyone uses. They just don’t have a clear place to find it. There’s also a real multi-agency government push to get more Australian (especially NSW) artists into sync.

Lazy Thinking Syncing pulls all of these things together. We’ve built a curated, constantly evolving library of genuinely great independent artists, often from very new and exciting acts. It’s the kind of stuff we program every week, and that we’ll then work super hard to get heard and in front of the right people.

Less average music in sync. More brilliant Australian artists getting paid earlier in their careers. It will also help us cover the cost of our core not-for-profit activities that run at a loss (like running the venue).
